Narendra Modi addresses Joint Press Meet in Tanzania

Narendra Modi addressed joint press meet with President Dr. John Magufuli in Tanzania. Before addressing the joint press meet both the leaders witnessed the exchange of five agreements across various sectors between India and Tanzania.

PM began his address to the joint press meet by saying that, "The Eastern coast of Africa and Tanzania in particular have enjoyed strong links with the India."

PM talked about the historical links between both the nations by saying that, "We are old maritime neighbours and have fought colonialism and racial oppression together."

PM paid tribute to President John Magufuli's motto "Hapa kazi tu and said that both the nations share vision of nation building, development and industralisation.

PM on partnership between both the nations:

"India is already a substantial economic partner of Tanzania. The whole range of our economic ties are healthy and on upswing. And, as a friend, what you want to achieve for your people would also be the focus of our efforts. India's cooperation with Tanzania will always be as per your needs and priorities."

"We have signed agreement on water supply projects in Zanzibar and are working on others in 17 cities under concessional LOCs."

"Public Health is another important area. We are ready to supply medicines and equipment to meet healthcare priorities of the Tanzanian government."

"Human resource development is an area of your priority where India is willing to offer all possible assistance."

"India's cooperation with Tanzania will always be as per your needs and priorities."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his address by saying that he is looking forward to welcoming President Dr. John Magufuli in India. He thanked people of Tanzania for their friendship and for receiving him so warmly.
