Narendra Modi 3rd most followed leader on Instagram

Bengaluru, Feb 18: Tech-savy Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the third most popular leader on Instagram with 1.7 million followers.

According to a report by World Leaders on Instagram, Modi is behind US President Barack Obama who has 6 million followers and Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, who has 2 million followers respectively.

As of Feb 17, Modi has posted 37 photos whereas Obama has posted 206 photos. Inspite of only 37 pictures posted on Instagram, Modi's account is slightly ahead of The White House.

The study also reveals that the official account of the Indian foreign ministry is the seventh most active account among all world leaders' Instagram account.

Meanwhile, this is not the first milestone for Modi on social media. Earlier this year, Modi became the second most popular leader on Facebook after Barack Obama with more than 31 million fans on his personal Narendra Modi Facebook page.

As of Feb 18, Modi has 18 million followers on his Twitter account.
