Narcotic smuggler held in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 21: A narcotic smuggler has been arrested along with a large quantity of intoxicants from Janipur area of the city, police said here today.

A police team in Janipur area of the city during a routine patrolling yesterday asked a pedestrian to stop as he was roaming in suspicious manner, a police officer said.

He said that during the checking, police recovered 1200 intoxicant capsules from his possession. The accused has been identified as Ajay Sharma, a resident of Roop Nagar of Jammu, the officer said.

He said that the accused had acquired these intoxicant capsules from the Pathankote area of Punjab and was supposed to sell them to the youth in Jammu.

The accused has been booked under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
