Narayan Sai's custody extended by a day

, Dec 19: A local court extended rape accused and self-styled Godman

for a day. Jatin Thakkar, the Chief Judicial Magistrate extended the remand by 24 hours, saying that Sai was yet to be grilled in conncetion to the bribe that his followers had offered to the police to dilute the case against him.

In fact, the police will also investigate the source of Rs 5 Crore that the associates had offered as a bribe. The police had detained 6 people, including a sub-inspector, in the wake of the bribing incident.

Public Prosecutor Nayan Sukhadwala also said that a day's custody was required to question him for the 21 sim cards that have been retrieved by the police during his cistody.

Apart from that, Sai could not be interrogated properly as he was shifted across cities for questioning and that he did not co-operate with the investigators.
