Narada sting probe: CBI Summons Mayor Sovan Chatterjee

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday sent summons to the Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, asking him to appear on Wednesday at Nizam Palace in connection with the Narada tapes controversy.

Earlier, The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons to Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee for the third time but he had failed to respond to the earlier ones in person.

Three ministers of the West Bengal government, Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim and Suvendu Adhikari, have been called for the first time, said sources.

The Narada sting operation case was a series of sting operations conducted by Narada news in West Bengal to expose the 'corrupt' practices of ministers in the Mamata Banerjee government.

The Narada sting operation purportedly showed several Trinamool Congress ministers, who were allegedly seen taking bribes on camera including Mukul Roy, Subrata Mukherjee, Sultan Ahmed, Sugata Roy, Suvendhu Adhikari, Kakoli Ghosh Dastikar, Prasoon Banerjee, Suvon Chatterjee, Madan Mitra, Iqbal Ahmed and Farhad Hakim.
