Nampally Election Result: Who Won This Seat In Telangana Assembly Polls?

The Congress appears poised to take control in Telangana, leading in a majority of seats. The battle for the Nampally seat continues fiercely, with Feroz Khan and AIMIM's Mohammad Majid Hussain vying intensely for victory. According to Election Commission of India, Majid secured 33,876 votes, while Feroz Khan garnered 30,115 votes.

Historically, the Nampally constituency has been a stronghold for AIMIM in the last two Assembly elections. However, the Congress has been resolute in its efforts to win over the constituency's populace.

Feroz Khan, a strong contender for the seat, previously faced defeat to AIMIM's Meraj by a margin of 15,000 votes in the last election. Khan has contended for the seat against Hussain three times since 2009, while AIMIM has consistently secured victory in all seven seats it currently holds.

AIMIM's Majid Hussain, a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and GHMC corporator from Mehdipatnam, previously served as the mayor of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh in 2012. He took over the Nampally constituency from incumbent Jaffar Hussain Meraj, who defeated Feroz Khan in 2018, and was later moved to Yakutpura after Pasha Qadri's induction by the party.

Feroz Khan's electoral history includes running with the Praja Rajyam Party in 2009, facing defeat by a margin of over 5,000 votes. Subsequently, in the 2014 state election as a TDP candidate, he met with another unfortunate loss. Khan attributed these defeats to the presence of counterfeit voters.

While AIMIM currently holds a secure majority in Charminar, Malakpet, Chandrayagutta, and Bahadurpura seats, the Congress and MBT are offering staunch competition in Yakutpura.

Out of the 356,995 eligible voters, 157,792 (44.2%) participated in the election. Although the vote counting is ongoing, the definitive winner between Majid Hussain and Feroz Khan has not yet emerged.
