Missing CCTV Footage of Bar Before Nagpur Audi Crash Involving BJP Leader's Son
CCTV footage from the bar visited by Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule's son Sanket and his friends before a car crash is missing, police reported on Thursday. The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the establishment has been confiscated, according to an official.

Sanket Bawankule's Audi, allegedly driven by his friend Arjun Hawre, collided with several vehicles in Ramdaspeth early Monday, injuring two individuals on a moped. Occupants of a Polo car that was hit pursued the Audi to T Point in Mankapur, where they apprehended Hawre and Ronit Chittwamwar and handed them over to the police.
Missing Footage and Forensic Analysis
The CCTV footage from La Horee Bar during the time before the crash is missing. "We seized their DVR on Wednesday and have sent it for forensic analysis," stated an official from Sitabuldi police station. The manager of La Horee initially refused to provide the footage and equipment to the investigation team but complied after being threatened with legal action.
However, it was discovered that there is no footage available since Sunday night. "Further probe is underway," added the official. Despite Sanket being in the car during the incident, he was not driving at the time of the accident, as confirmed by the police earlier.
Events Leading Up to the Crash
According to police reports, Sanket consumed alcohol and some chicken and mutton dishes at La Horee Bar before the crash. Hawre was arrested on Monday night but was later released on bail at the police station.
The incident has raised questions about the events leading up to the crash and the missing footage. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details about what transpired that night.
The bar management's initial reluctance to cooperate has added another layer of complexity to the case. Legal actions were considered before they eventually handed over the DVR for analysis.
The situation remains under scrutiny as investigators work to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the collision. The missing footage is a critical element in understanding what happened that night.
Authorities are determined to get to the bottom of this incident and ensure that all relevant evidence is thoroughly examined. The outcome of the forensic analysis will be crucial in shedding light on this case.
The ongoing investigation aims to provide clarity and accountability for all parties involved. As new information emerges, it will be essential for understanding how such incidents can be prevented in the future.
