My colour is definitely ‘not saffron': Kamal Haasan
With talks doing rounds that Kamal Haasan may join politics, the veteran actor on Friday almost ruled out siding with the BJP by saying 'saffron is not my colour'.
Kamal Haasan has been making politically loaded comments for a few months now, especially against the AIADMK government. This has led to a speculation that he may enter Tamil Nadu politics.
"My colour is obviously seen over the 40 years I have been working in cinema, definitely it's not saffron...I want to be in the middle of things, not leaning to any side: Kamal Haasan on joining politics," he told reporters.
Haasan had on August 21 taken a jibe at Tamil Nadu politics while referring to the merger of the two factions of the ruling AIADMK by using the analogy of a "clown's cap". The actor said the "clown's cap" was now being foisted on the head of Tamils and urged them to "erupt".
Haasan's presence at a DMK event recently has led to speculation that the 62-year-old could be weighing a political career and could be looking at joining the DMK.
