Muzaffarnagar: After riot, now girl shot at for opposing eve-teasing

Muzaffarnagar, Nov 17: A college girl was allegedly shot at by her friend and his two accomplices when she opposed eve-teasing by them at Goharni village in Shamli district, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday evening when the girl, a BSc final year student, was going with a male friend on a motorbike, they said. The victim was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition, from where she was referred to Meerut.

Police has registered a case of attempt to murder against the three youths. Of the three, the girl's friend Mukesh Choudhry is already in police custody while two are absconding. The two absconding youths are Mukesh's friend, police said.
