Muslims Offer Chaadar At Piran Kaliyar Sharif, Pray For Bangladesh's Persecuted Hindus

In a poignant act of solidarity, members of the Muslim community in India, led by Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams, offered a 'chaadar' at Piran Kaliyar Sharif, praying for the safety and well-being of the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. The ceremony, held on Monday, sought divine intervention to end the reported atrocities faced by Hindus, including temple demolitions, religious persecution, and threats to women's safety, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Shams, in his statement, condemned the ongoing religious violence in Bangladesh, describing it as a "nefarious conspiracy" orchestrated by groups such as the ISI and Jamaat-e-Islami. He emphasized the importance of protecting religious minorities and ensuring their safety in a democratic society. "People of Bangladesh are facing religious hatred, temples are being demolished, sisters and daughters are unsafe, and democracy has been murdered there," Shams remarked, drawing attention to the dire situation, as reported by Hindustan Times.

He cited the Quranic verse "Innallaha Ma'asahirin" ("God is with the oppressed and against the oppressors") to convey the community's plea for justice and to remind that divine forces support the oppressed. Shams also warned that the oppressors, in their continued mistreatment of the innocent, will face the consequences of their actions as God listens to the cries of the suffering.

This gesture of interfaith compassion highlights the growing concern over the treatment of religious minorities in Bangladesh and underscores the significance of communal unity in addressing such issues, as per media reports. The 'chaadar' offering at Piran Kaliyar Sharif reflects a collective hope for peace and justice for the Hindus in Bangladesh, as the Muslim community stands in solidarity with their plight.

With growing tensions in the region, India continues to raise the issue of the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh, a situation that remains a key point of diplomatic dialogue between the two nations. The act of offering prayers at Piran Kaliyar Sharif serves as a powerful message of unity and compassion amidst escalating religious tensions.
