Muslim Woman Earns PhD On PM Modi From BHU
A Muslim woman has earned a doctorate by writing a thesis on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political journey.
Started in 2014, the woman named Najma Parveen's doctoral study titled 'Narendra Modi's Political Leadership: An Analytical Study' was completed on November 1, 2023, under the Department of Political Science at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). She has probably become the first Muslim woman in the country to do research on PM Modi.

Her supervisor was Sanjay Srivastava of BHU and the external examiner of her thesis was from Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
Hailing from a humble weaver family, the researcher faced the loss of her parents many years ago. Despite these challenges, she continued to do pursue her education with the backing of financial support provided by Professor Rajiv Srivastava, the founder of Vishal Bharat Sansthan. The scholar had taken part in the anti-Triple Talaq movement.
"I selected this topic as PM Narendra Modi created a model of development as the chief minister of Gujarat. His popularity grew and he became the prime minister of the country. The 2014 general elections transformed the entire political landscape of the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party's victory considerably reduced the influence of regional parties in national politics. As prime minister, Modi started working in a dynamic manner and took several decisions for the development of the country and welfare of the poor. That is why I chose this topic," she is quoted as saying.
She has claimed that her decision to do a research on PM Modi was met with opposition but she was firm on her decision.
Parveen has dreams of becoming a politician like Modi and she has already floated a party named Bharatiya Awam Party.
Her thesis encompassed five main chapters, delve into various aspects: the liberation from the dominance of Congress's power and dynasty rule, Prime Minister Modi's political journey, his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, the phase of opposition allegations and criticism, and the support received from both the public and the media.
Parveen said that her PhD drew references from 20 Hindi books and 79 English books, which included biographies of PM Modi. Additionally, she consulted 37 newspapers and magazines. Notably, during her research, she had the opportunity to meet PM Modi's brother, Pankaj, and interact with RSS leader Indresh Kumar.
"From scratches to the sky. History was created in general election 2014 when Narendra Modi, who belongs to a non-political and simple family, became PM. So, Parveen chose a very relevant topic for her research, which covered welfare schemes, developmental programmes and reformation in different fields Modi did as PM in the last nine years," Rajiv Srivastava said.
