A quiet village in Uttar Pradesh has been shattered by a horrifying crime, revealing a tale of domestic violence that culminated in an unthinkable act. Authorities have arrested a man accused of murdering his wife and two young daughters and secretly burying their bodies within the confines of their own home in Ghari Daulat village, under the Kandhla police jurisdiction.

The accused, identified as Mohd Farukh (also referred to as Farooq), allegedly committed the brutal murders on the night of December 9-10. However, the grim reality remained concealed for nearly a week, with Farukh reportedly continuing his daily life as normal until the disturbing truth was unearthed this Tuesday.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police N.P. Singh, the case broke open when the village head reported that Farukh's wife, Tahira (32), and their two daughters-Afreen (14) and Sehreem (7)-had been missing for several days. The alarm was raised further by Farukh's own father, who grew suspicious after his son provided evasive answers about the family's whereabouts.

Under rigorous police questioning, Farukh allegedly confessed to the triple homicide. The trigger for the violence, as per initial investigations, was a domestic argument reportedly sparked when Tahira visited her parental home without wearing a burqa or hijab. This alleged act of defiance is said to have enraged Farukh.

The police narrative details a premeditated and chilling sequence of events. Farukh is accused of having already dug a deep, nine-foot pit in the courtyard of the house. On the fateful night, he allegedly woke Tahira under the pretext of wanting tea and then shot her. When their elder daughter, Afreen, attempted to intervene, she too was allegedly shot. Witnessing the trauma, the younger daughter, Sehreem, was then reportedly strangled. Farukh then allegedly buried all three bodies in the prepared pit, covering the site with bricks to conceal his crime.

The recovery of the bodies confirmed the horrific confession. The couple, who had five children in total, had been experiencing frequent marital disputes for months and were living separately from Farukh's parents due to ongoing family tensions. Three of their children survived, as they were not present at home during the attack.

In his statements to the police, Farukh has reportedly cited a combination of motivations, including persistent financial stress, constant arguments, and feelings of anger and humiliation, which he claims led him to commit the act. The specific dispute over his wife's clothing appears to have been the immediate catalyst.

The discovery has sent shockwaves through the community. Outraged members of the victims' family staged a protest and attempted to confront the accused, necessitating police intervention to maintain order.
