Major Blaze at Heera Panna Mall: 14 Rescued, 7 Injured Due to Smoke Inhalation
On Friday afternoon, a level-3 fire broke out at the Heera Panna mall located near the Oshiwara police station. The blaze resulted in smoke inhalation issues for seven individuals including three firefighters. A total of fourteen people were rescued from the four-story building by emergency services.
In a recent incident on Friday afternoon, a major fire engulfed the Heera Panna Mall in suburban Oshiwara, Mumbai. The fire resulted in smoke inhalation problems for seven people, including three firemen. Additionally, fourteen people were rescued from the premises by emergency services.
Details of the Incident

The Level 3 blaze began at approximately 3:10 pm within close proximity to the Oshiwara police station. With relentless efforts from firefighters and rescue teams, it was completely doused by 7:40 pm that evening. In response to the blaze, twenty-five fire brigade vehicles were deployed to tackle the situation – among them twelve fire engines.
A total of fourteen individuals were safely evacuated from the four-storey building which included a woman. Unfortunately, three brave firefighters had to be hospitalised due to suffocation caused by excessive smoke inhalation during their heroic rescue operation.
Casualties and Rescue Operations
Four individuals identified as Raj Pribhas Israni (69), Amruta Mukesh Sagar (39), Mitesh Sheth (39) and Sachin More (41) suffered injuries amidst this unfortunate event. Israni and Sagar were admitted into Kokilaben Hospital's Intensive Care Unit owing to severe smoke inhalation issues while Sheth and More received treatment before being discharged.
The officials elaborated on how nine persons found refuge on the terrace until they were rescued using a Turn Table Ladder. Two more individuals were saved with an Angus ladder deployment while another three made their way out through staircases amidst all chaos.
Firefighters' Condition
Three valiant firefighters from Goregaon Fire Station - Sandip Maruti Patil, Raju Uttam Shingankar and Yogesh Kondawar - were among those hospitalised due to the effects of smoke inhalation. Their current condition is not known.
