Mumbai, Dec 24: The intelligence agencies are on their toes after a Mumbai youth who allegedly joined ISIS tweeted that the Islamic State militants are planning attack similar to the one that rocked Peshawar on December 16, says a Mid-Day report.

The report says that the IS militants are planning a Peshawar-like attack on a city school. The tweet was sent by one of the four Kalyan youths who allegedly joined the terror organisation.

According to Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials, the message clearly depicts the Kalyan youth's hatred towards the Gujarati community. The youth joined ISIS to take revenge for the Gujarat riots.

The Mumbai police has geared up security measures in the Gujarati pockets in Mumbai like Mulund, Ghatkopar, Vile Parle, Kandivli, Borivli and Dahisar. The areas have been put on high alert, says the report.

The police said that patrolling of police officials in plainclothes in the areas has been increased and the Quick Response Team has also been put on alert. The north region of the Mumbai police force has also been put on high alert and the leaves of policemen posted there have been cancelled, said the report.

The Twitter handle of the Kalyan youth shows its location as Turkey, said a TOI report. On December 14, a tweet was sent from the account, asking Mumbai, Delhi, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh to be on high alert.
