By Vikas

With the incessant rains wreaking havoc in Mumbai and throwing normal life out of gear, a building collapsed on Tuesday in the metropolitan city's Varsha Nagar area in Vikhroli, leaving one person dead and two injured.

In a separate incident, two persons died after a landslide in Vikhroli's Surya Nagar.

Rains battered Mumbai and brought life to a standstill as traffic movement was severely hampered and train services, the lifeline of the city, stopped. The local train services on some line have, however, resumed now.

It is not yet clear if the building that collapsed in Vikhroli was due to rain.

Last week, a building collapsed during demolition in Mumbai's Sagharsh Nagar in which one person died.
