Mumbai rains: Advisory for today, stay indoors, keep mobiles charged

In the event of the heavy Mumbai rains, the state government has issued an advisory for the next 48 hours.

"The next 48 hours may see very heavy rainfall in Mumbai and suburbs... Precautionary measures include not venturing out unless necessary, electricity supply may be cut down to water-logging, it would be advisable to keep devices charged, stock food and supplies, roll down windows of vehicles while in traffic," the advisory read.

    The BMC and the Mumbai police worked in tandem on Tuesday and will continue to do so on Wednesday as well. Both departments were being personally monitored by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He made several calls to find out about the latest updates and also as to what measures were being taken.
