Mumbai monorail inaugurated by Prithviraj Chavan

New Delhi, Feb 1: The

monorail was inaugurated today by Chief Minister

. A major new addition to the city's transportation system, the rail will be a speedier access to various destinations in the city.

The monorail woudl be made available to the public on Sunday. The inauguration is apparently a strategic move before the Lok Sabha elections, especially when just recently the new terminal of the Mumbai international airport was opened.

The Chavan government is banking upon these developmental moves to earn votes in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
