Mumbai Live In Partner Murder Case: First Picture Of Alleged Killer Released

The Mumbai Police has released the first picture of Manoj Sahni, who allegedly killed his live-in partner a few days ago in Mumbai.

56-year-old Manoj Sahni killed his partner Saraswati Vaidya days ago. He was arrested by cops on Wednesday. According to the cops, Sahni murdered Vaidya three or four days back after which he purchased a tree-cutter to chop her body into pieces.

The shocking part of the story is the accused boiled pieces of her body in a pressure cooker and later filled them into plastic bags to dispose of them. They further say that over 12-13 pieces of the woman's body were recovered from the site. The police say that he possibly cut her body into pieces so that it becomes easy for him to dispose of it.

The accused stayed with Vaidya at an apartment building in Geeta Nagar Phase 7 for the past three years.

However, the Nayanagar PS got a call from his neighbours around 7 pm on Wednesday as they complained of a foul smell from his flat. Upon coming to his flat, they discovered the woman's body parts.

"Manoj Sahani and Saraswati Vaidya were in a live-in relationship and used to live in the Geeta Akash Deep building. The couple had a fight over some matter following which the woman was murdered by her partner. Her body was cut into pieces with a cutter. When we reached the house and opened the door, we understood it was a case of murder and the suspect tried to hide the evidence, " the website quoted Jayant Bajbale, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1), as saying.

Meanwhile, National Commission for Women has taken suo-moto cognizance of the incident. "We have seen that in the recent past, cases like this have increased. we have taken suo moto on this and will write to DG to take care of the case," National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma told the ANI.
