Mumbai Coastal Road Inauguration Today: Speed Limits And Traffic Restrictions| Details Inside

The south-bound corridor of the coastal road between Worli and Marine Drive, known as Mumbai Coastal Road Project Phase 1, in south Mumbai, is scheduled to open for traffic on Monday, March 11.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inspected the construction of the ambitious project on Thursday, as reported by Hindustan Times.

• Mumbai Coastal Road Project Phase 1:
• Construction began on October 13, 2018.
• Projected cost: ₹12,721 crore.

Eknath Shinde's Announcement:

• A world-class central park spread over 320 acres will be developed along the 'Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road', as per a Hindustan Times report.

Traffic Information:

• The 10.5-kilometer-long stretch will open for traffic in the first phase.
• Entry points: Worli Seaface, Haji Ali interchange, and Amarson's interchange.
• Exit point: Marine Lines.

Mumbai Police Traffic Advisory:

• Partial opening for vehicular traffic on specified routes.
• Allowed between 6 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Strict prohibition on stopping vehicles, disembarking, and photography.

Entry and Exit Points:

• Entry: Bindu Madhav Thackeray Junction, Rajani Patel Junction (Lotus Junction), Amarsons Garden.
• Exit: Amarsons Garden, Marine Drive (Princess Street Bridge).

Vehicles with Restricted Entry:

• Heavy vehicles, trailers, mixers, and tractors, except for BEST and ST buses.
• Two-wheelers, cycles, disabled persons' motorcycles and scooters.
• Three-wheelers, animal-drawn carts, tangas, and handcarts.

• Tunnel: 60 km/hr.
• Turning points and entry/exit: 40 km/hr.
