Injustice to Maharashtra and Investments Diverted to Gujarat

Thackeray expressed his discontent with the current state of affairs in Maharashtra, alleging that the Centre and the state government are treating the state unjustly. He further lamented that investments are being diverted to Gujarat, leaving Maharashtra at a disadvantage.

Vow to Bring the Guilty to Justice

Addressing party workers in south Mumbai, Thackeray reiterated his commitment to exposing corruption and ensuring accountability. He declared that the road construction scam is a clear case of corruption and vowed to bring those involved to justice once his party forms the next government.

Warning to BMC Administrator

Thackeray specifically targeted Chahal, who was appointed as the BMC commissioner by the previous Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He accused Chahal of being complicit in the scam and warned him to be cautious, hinting at potential consequences for his alleged involvement.

Chahal's Tenure and Controversies

Chahal's tenure as the BMC commissioner has been marked by both accolades and controversies. He gained recognition for his effective handling of the COVID-19 pandemic during the MVA government's rule. However, since the collapse of the MVA government in June 2022, he has been a frequent target of Aaditya Thackeray's criticism.

Previous Allegations of Corruption

In addition to the road construction scam, Thackeray has also accused Chahal of being involved in a Rs 263 crore scam related to the purchase of street furniture. These allegations have further strained the relationship between Thackeray and Chahal.

Aaditya Thackeray's allegations against Mumbai civic chief I S Chahal have added to the ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra. As the state grapples with various challenges, the outcome of these accusations and the fate of those implicated remain uncertain. The situation is likely to unfold further as political developments continue to shape the landscape of Maharashtra.
