Multistoried building in Goa collapses, several dead

Canacona, Jan 04:A multistoried

collapsed in the Canacona region of South

on Saturday afternoon. Eight people are reported to have been killed. Many are said to have been injured too.40 people are yet to be traced.

It was an under-construction building and 50-75 wokers were reported to be at the site. Ambulances and fire engines have been rushed from Madgaon and nearby towns.

Several buildings have collapsed in Mumbai, Bangalore, and several other cities across India in 2013. This, however, is the first of its kind in 2014.
