Mulayam owes Rs 4 lakh to UP electricity department
The power department has given Mulayam till the the end of this month to settle the bills.
Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav's sprawling bungalow in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah has Rs four lakh worth unpaid electricity bills and was found to have exceeded permissible limit of power consumption.
An inspection by the power department officials on Thursday revealed that the permissible limit of 5 kW a day was crossed eight times.
The power department has given Mulayam till the the end of this month to settle the bills, said reports.
The 77-year-old bungalow is one of the largest in the town and has more than a dozen rooms. It also has its own air-conditioning plant, a temperature-controlled swimming pool and several elevators.
