MP: Teachers fail to make toilets in schools, salaries stopped

Shahdol (MP), Feb 14: Salaries of 25 teachers were here stopped till further orders by district collector as they failed to construct toilet in their respective schools.

Toilets were to be constructed for students in government schools by December end under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, but it was found during inspection that in number of schools the basic facility was not availed by teachers' concerned, Shahdol collector Dr Ashok Kumar Bhargava said.

Taking the matter seriously, he ordered to stop salaries of 10 teachers till further orders in Sohagpur block, four in Gohparu, three in Budhar, two in Beohari and six in Jaisinghnagar block.

The construction was not carried out despite all these schools having Parents-Teacher Associations.
