Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Seeks Apology from Congress for Criticising His Investment Tour
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has called for an apology from the Congress party for criticising his upcoming foreign trip. The visit aims to attract investment to the state, governed by the BJP. Yadav plans to travel to two European countries from 23 November to 1 December. State Congress chief Jitu Patwari criticised the trip, calling it "an open drama in the name of investment."

Yadav defended his travel plans, stating that visiting abroad is essential for inviting investors to a world-class summit scheduled for February next year. He emphasised the importance of seeking investment opportunities wherever possible, including in England and Germany. "If we are organising a world-class investors’ summit in February next year, I must visit abroad to invite the investors. I am going to England and Germany and go wherever we will find investors," Yadav said.
Investment Plans and Criticism
The Chief Minister urged the opposition to adopt a positive outlook and support efforts to bring investment into Madhya Pradesh. He appealed for an apology from Congress, suggesting that opposing the investors' summit is not beneficial for the state's welfare. "If you want the welfare of Madhya Pradesh, you will have to rise above politics. I appeal to them through you media that they apologise for their statements. It’s not good to oppose the investors’ summit," he added.
Yadav highlighted the success of regional industry conclaves held in Sagar, Jabalpur, Rewa, and Ujjain. These events have attracted significant investment, which is expected to generate employment opportunities. The state anticipates receiving investments ranging from Rs 2.5 lakh crore to Rs 3 lakh crore, which will contribute to economic growth.
Future Conclaves and Opposition Remarks
Before the February 2025 investors' meet, additional regional industry conclaves are planned in Narmadapuram and Shahdol districts. This strategy aims to further boost local industries and attract more investments into Madhya Pradesh.
On Saturday, Patwari criticised the government’s spending on publicity under the guise of attracting investment. He claimed that officials accompanying Yadav would prepare for roadshows in London, Munich, and Berlin. Patwari remarked that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav now seeks to become an "international tourist." "An open drama is going on in the name of investment in Madhya Pradesh. Crores of rupees are being spent in the name of government publicity," Patwari stated.
The Chief Minister remains focused on promoting Madhya Pradesh as a favourable destination for investors. Despite criticism from opposition leaders, Yadav continues with plans to enhance economic growth through international engagement.
