MP BJP hopeful of good days ahead with state leaders at Centre

Elated over good representation of MP at the Centre, state BJP's media in-charge Hitesh Bajpai told PTI, "It is the beginning of acche din (good days) for the state." Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan was recently elected as Lok Sabha Speaker and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar was chosen unopposed as Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh.
MPs from the state have also found presence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Council of Ministers, with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj (Vidisha), Mines, Steel, Labour and Employment Minister Narendra Singh Tomar (Gwalior), Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot and Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla (both members of Rajya Sabha from the state).
Former state Chief Minister Uma Bharti is the Union Water Resources Minister, though she was elected from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi Lok Sabha seat in the recent elections.
MP BJP: Mins from MP at Centre is an indication of the beginning of acche din
"After Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh has got maximum representation at the Centre and this is an indication of the beginning of acche din (good days - a slogan used by the BJP in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls) and end of step-motherly treatment meted out by the Congress-led UPA government to the state," Bajpai claimed.
"Though it is a fact that Madhya Pradesh always had good representation at the Centre, the Congress leaders were insensitive towards the needs of the state, specially on the development front," he alleged.
Welcoming the development, state Congress unit chief spokesman K K Mishra said, "In the larger interest of the state, Congress believes that after getting due representation at the Centre, the development of the state will be reflected in real sense and not just in words."
"However, it is difficult in view of the availability of limited resources and global recession. But despite that, if any development of the state takes place, then it would be a blessing," he further said. "Even if they are able to control inflation, improve law and order and reduce corruption, we will consider it as the beginning of acche din," Mishra remarked.
