Move over demonetisation, here’s ‘decoinetisation’ post ‘Khota’ Sikka’s exit from Infosys
The exit of Vishal Sikka from Infosys is seen as "decoinetisation" by Twitter.
Bengaluru, August 18: Back in June 2014, when Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy introduced the IT behemoth's new chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) Vishal Sikka to the press, the well-known technocrat-entrepreneur told the audience that the new man at the helm of affairs of the company means "lots of money".
Of course, Murthy then was cracking a joke or two at the expense of his "blue-eyed boy" whose second name Sikka in Hindi stands for "coin".

Murthy, who shares a cordial rapport with reporters, narrated in detail how he had asked the new CEO what his last name meant. "I, being a south Indian, did not know what 'Sikka' meant and he (Sikka) told me 'It means coin, it means money'," Murthy said.
Murthy added, "Rajiv (CFO Rajiv Bansal) is always worried about money and had said Vishal Sikka means 'lots of money, big money'." He said, "This is what we need for Infosys."
Sikka was appointed the CEO and the MD of the company when Infosys was going through a "painful" phase of losing business to the rivals.
Three years down the line, in the business front, Infosys is yet to be upbeat. Moreover, in the 'relationship department' too, the company witnessed some "bad blood" between the CEO-cum-MD and the founder members, especially Murthy.
The equation between Murthy and Sikka is no more "jovial and light-hearted" as was back in 2014.
However, on Friday when Sikka announced his resignation from his coveted posts, "the Sikka" jokes are back and the credit goes to Twitter, where everyone was airing their 'opinion' on the latest big corporate exit.
While some called the former Infosys CEO-MD as a "Khota Sikka" meaning "false coin", others compared Sikka's resignation with demonetisation by coining the word "decoinetisation".
Here we bring you some quirky take on Sikka's resignation:
