Bengaluru, Aug 10: It's been more than a month when a 65-year-old woman went missing in Korgi village of Kundapur taluk in Udupi district, on Wednesday, June 24.

She had left the home saying that she was going to visit one of her relatives' home. In a hope to find his mother Malathi B Shetty, Satish Shetty, her techie son launched a website, "http://www.mommissing.org/" on Saturday, Aug 8.

Malathi B Shetty

On the website, he wrote a blog saying, "My mother, Malathi B Shetty from Kandavara Hebbagilu Mane, living in Charukottige, Korgi village(near thekkatte), Kundapur taluk, Udupi District, Karnataka, is missing since June 24th. In the house, she was living along with husband(my father), Kedoor Bhaskar Shetty(retired school teacher), Daughter Sarala Shetty and Son-in-law Dr Ram manohar Shetty.

On June-24th, She left house around 1:30PM and we have not heard back from her since. I rushed to India on July 4th and stayed till July-19th to step up the search efforts. I met Udupi SP Annamalai and appealed to him to fast-track the search & inquiry process. I also did a press meet in Udupi on July 17th. We also made posters and placed in various temples and bus stations. It is already 45 days now, still no clues about my mother.

At that time of missing, She was wearing a cream white saree with baby pink blouse. She is 65-year-old and 5.5 ft tall, of fair complexion. The best way to recognize her is by looking at her toe fingers and they are not all straight. She was wearing almost 3.75 lakhs worth of gold jewellery (which is her normal daily wear). I am requesting for a public support to trace my missing mother. Please share the news in WhatsApp & social media groups."

Police Investigation

"June 26th, My brother-in-law Dr Ram Monohar Shetty filed an FIR at Kundapur police station. On June 26th evening around 9:30PM, I talked to Udupi Superintendent of Police K Annamalai over the phone and appealed to him. When I visited India, I also met Annamalai on July 4th and July 19th at his Udupi office. On July 17th, Mr Annamalai visited our house in India along with Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjunatha Shetty to step-up the investigation", he wrote.

"Udupi SP Mr Annamalai has formed a special team under DySP Mr Manjunatha Shetty and Sub-Inspector Mr Naseer Hussain. Both Mr Annamalai and Mr Manjunatha Shetty are actively involved in this investigation", he said.

Reward Announcement

"On July 30, We have announced Rs.1,00,000.00 reward for the person who provide us with a credible info about my mother. This includes police dept as well."

On Sunday, Aug 9, he tweeted, "My Mom went missing from our India house on June-24th. After hearing the news, i rushed to India on July 4th."

He also said that his father, Kedoor Bhaskar Shetty is a retired schoolteacher, whose health is deterorating.

Satish is the founder-CEO Codeproof Technologies, a Seattle-based company.
