Mother Dairy Milk Price Hiked By Rs 2

Mother Dairy, a key player in the dairy sector, has announced a price increase for milk by up to Rs 2 per litre starting April 30, 2025, to mitigate the impact of rising input costs. This decision comes in response to the procurement costs, which have surged by Rs 4-5 per litre in recent months. The company, which distributes approximately 35 lakh litres of milk daily in the Delhi-NCR area through various channels, including its own outlets, general trade, and e-commerce platforms, cited the early summer and heatwave conditions as primary reasons for the hike in procurement prices.

The adjustment in milk prices is intended to partially offset the increased expenses, ensuring a balance between supporting farmers' livelihoods and serving the consumers' interests. According to a company spokesperson, "This price revision has been necessitated to address the significant increase in procurement costs." Moreover, the spokesperson highlighted the company's commitment to maintaining the consistent availability of quality milk for consumers while also supporting the farmers' well-being.

New Milk Prices in Delhi-NCR

Following the revision, the prices for various types of milk in the Delhi-NCR region will see an adjustment. The cost of toned milk sold in bulk has been revised to Rs 56 per litre, up from Rs 54. Similarly, the price for full cream milk in pouches will see an increase to Rs 69 per litre from the previous Rs 68. For toned milk available in pouches, consumers will now have to pay Rs 57 per litre, a Rs 1 increase from the earlier rate. The double-toned milk will see a price adjustment to Rs 51 per litre from Rs 49, and cow milk's price has been raised to Rs 59 per litre from Rs 57.

This price hike reflects a strategic move by Mother Dairy to manage the elevated procurement costs while ensuring that the increase is not fully transferred to the consumers. The spokesperson emphasized, "This revision represents only a partial pass-through of the increased costs, aiming to equitably serve the interests of both farmers and consumers."
