Month-long Nauchandi fair begins

Meerut (UP), April 4: The month-long Nauchandi fair was inaugurated with great fanfare here on Sunday evening.

After the inauguration ceremony, the Divisional Commissioner of Meerut Ashok Sinha said the fair has a history of 130 years. He added that the fair provides ample opportunities to traders and also entertains people.

District Magistrate Pankaj Yadav said the district administration will provide every possible help required in the arrangements of the fair.

Calling the fair an "epitome of Hindu- Muslim unity", MLC Sarojni Agarwal said the fair promotes communal harmony.
