Money laundering: ED conducts nationwide search
The Enforcement Directorate has conducted nationwide searches in 10 states against public servants in connection with money laundering. The raids at 18 premises were conducted under the provisions of the Money Laundering Act.

ED officials say that the raids were conducted after information of money laundering by several public servants was received. Officials further point out that several public servants have come under the scanner after the decision on demonetisation was made.
There have been several such raids over the past couple of months where public servants were found to be helping black money hoarders launder their cash. The ED has seized incriminating documents during the raids and further investigations are on.
