Molestation case: J-K Minister resigns
"Congress has asked Minister of State for Health Shabir Khan to resign pending inquiry", JKPCC spokesman Ravinder Sharma told reporters here.
The Minister, who is believed to have been told to resign by JKPCC chief Saif-uddin-Soz, is in Rajouri. Asked about the Congress stand on the issue, Sharma said, "Law will take its own course."
The minister was alleged to have made sexual advances at a lady doctor in the pretext of getting some information regarding the announcements made by the Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad during her visit to the hospital where she worked. She alleged that she was being called repeatedly from his office, despite her requests that he get the information from the senior officials.
In fact, she was asked to meet him at his Circuit House where he lived, but she came to his office in the presence of officials. The minister then allegedly asked her to wait in a cabin alone, which is where he made the advances.
