Udhampur attack: Mohammad Naved being brought to Delhi by NIA
New Delhi, Aug 13: Mohammad Naved, the terrorist arrested in connection with the Udhampur attack is being taken to New Delhi by the National Investigating Agency (NIA). He will land in Delhi by a special flight and would be further interrogated in the National Capital by NIA sleuths.
The NIA is better equipped to carry out an interrogation in Delhi which is its headquarters. Moreover, taking into account the security aspect too it was better to bring Naved down to Delhi rather than keep him in Jammu and Kashmir, the official also informed.

Modus operandi under probe:
It was necessary to keep Naved in Jammu and Kashmir for sometime during the preliminary round of investigations. The route that he took within the state was of extreme importance to investigators. He was taken on that route and asked to identify the houses where he had stayed before he landed in Udhampur.
While this forms the part of the preliminary round of investigation, the next round would include the details regarding the modus operandi. His training, family and the association with the Lashkar-e-Taiba will be dealt with in the next round of investigations.
The NIA is writing to the Pakistan establishment seeking details regarding Naved. However, Pakistan has already reiterated that Naved is not their national. They even claimed that their national data base does not even have his name.
