Modiji your speeches will not fill empty tummies: Sonia Gandhi in Karnataka
Sonia Gandhi hit the campaign trail after a span of two years and at her rally in Karnataka, she kept the focus on attacking Narendra Modi. Addressing a large gathering in Vijaypura, Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress president took a dig at Modi and said that only words will not fill stomachs.

Modi is a good orator and he is proud of it. However only talking does not fill tummies, she also said. Standing next to each other and working is the essence of Karnataka and India she also added.
We introduced the NREGA scheme which was objected to by the the BJP and Modi. We have worked for the poor. The Congress government in Karnataka has done so much for the poor, but the Centre has done nothing she further added.
Farmers of Karnataka have been suffering due to drought, your CM Siddaramaiah wanted to meet PM over this issues but he refused. By doing this he has insulted not only the farmers but also the state of Karnataka, she also said.
All states that suffered drought were given compensation (by centre), Karnataka was provided with the least, this was like rubbing salting into the wounds of farmers. I ask Modi ji, is this your 'sabka-saath, sabka-vikas?'
Wherever Modi goes, he distorts facts. He says wrong things and distorts historic facts. He uses the names of heroes from our political history for his political motives, the Congress leader said.
Sonia further said that the Narendra Modi government has not contributed a single rupee towards the farm loan waiver. Siddaramaiah government has introduced a lot of reforms. He has made it the number one state in India. She also made a reference to the Indira canteens set up by the Congress government in Karnataka and said that the right to good food should be available to all sections of society.
She also took a dig at Modi and said that he is obsessed with Congress mukt Bharat. She said that this is because he wants no opposition. She also added that the schemes introduced by the Congress have all been opposed by the BJP.
Modi is the first PM who speaks a lot on everything, but remains silent on important issues. What promises has he fulfilled in the past four years. What has he done for the middle class. What is Modiji's model to fight corruption, she also asked.
Since the past four years, the only thing Modi has done is to oppose all the people friendly schemes that the Congress introduced. The Modi government has contributed to price rise. The prices of petrol, diesel and gas has increased. Our Congress government in Karnataka has worked hard to ensure that people do not suffer.
Have you ever seen a prime minister ever in the history of the country who only talks, but remains silent on the peoples's problems. What has Modi done on the issue of employment. What has he done about the protection of Dalits, Sonia asked.
Why have you not brought about the Lokpal Modiji Sonia asked. You speak so much about corruption, but why are you silent. You are quiet about the charges against the son of your closest aide, Sonia said while making a reference to Amit Shah.
The Congress has kept the state of Karnataka united. Modiji however comes spreads hatred and leaves says Sonia Gandhi, she said at the end of her speech.
