Modi shifting debate from black money to cashless economy: AAP

New Delhi, Nov 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is shifting the debate from black economy to cashless economy following demonetisation, Delhi's ruling AAP said on Monday.
At a "public dialogue" on the issue at Connaught Place here, Aam Aadmi Party leader Dilip Pandey said the demonetisation move had turned from a "Tughlaki farman" to a "Talibani farman".

"More than seven dozen people have died due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement to spike 500 and 1,000 rupee notes," he said.
In the wake of an unprecedented cash chaos across the country, Modi was now trying to shift the debate from black economy to cashless economy, the AAP leader said.
"But when people have no cash in their pockets, the economy will naturally turn into a cashless economy. Is that what our Prime Minister is trying to achieve?" Pandey asked at a gathering of hundreds wearing 'aam aadmi' caps. The crowd included AAP MLAs.
"Now they have reduced interest rates on fixed deposits. This shows that you (Modi) have become insensitive to public suffering."
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that in just 20 days since the November 8 demonetisation, over eight lakh crore rupees had been deposited in the banks.
If so much money has already reached the banks in just 20 days, where has the black money gone, he asked.
Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra said even a child was aware that black money was now being converted into white.
He alleged that virtually no trade was going on since demonetisation.
