Talking to the media on January 16, Anna Hazare said that he will start a Satyagraha movement for the farmers in the country on March 23rd where problems faced by farmers will be raised.

He said that the demand for Farmers' Pension Bill will be placed along with a profitable price for their produce.

Hazare said, "Since Independence 22 lakh farmers have committed suicide in this country, and the Modi Government is not doing anything to change the impoverished condition in which farmers are living in this country, this Government is for Industrialist and not for the poor,"

He said that he is touring all over the country and has discussed with courts to proceed further with his movement for the farmers. Representatives from 17 states will take part in his movement and will have to declare that they won't be a part of any political party - a clear jibe with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

He also remarked, "Andolan wale Mukhyomantri ban gaye," (People who took part in the previous movement are chief ministers now,"

He further said, "Those that will breach their declaration of not getting involved in any political party will be dragged to the Court,"

Saying that this movement is not for any party or person, and for the Constitution, he said, "Arvind had said that he would not form any political party, however, in a democracy it everyone has the right to form a party, but he broke his promise,"
