Modi sahib, a stone pelter has nothing to do with tourism: Abdullah on J&K unrest
The NC chief Farooq Abdullah came out in support of stone pelters at an election rally in Srinagar on Wednesday.
Srinagar, April 5: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the stone-pelting youths of Jammu and Kashmir to shun violence and join the mainstream of development, the National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said that stone pelters had got nothing to do with tourism.
While campaigning for Srinagar Lok Sabha bypolls, which are scheduled for April 9, the NC chief came out in support of stone pelters on Wednesday.

"I want to tell Modi sahib that tourism is our life no doubt about that, but a stone pelter has nothing to do with tourism," Abdullah was quoted saying by news agency ANI.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir added, "They (stone pelters) will risk starvation but will throw stones for the nation that's what we need to understand."
Addressing a rally at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir after inaugurating Asia's longest tunnel, PM Modi said, "Some misguided youngsters are pelting stones but see here, youth of Kashmir are using the same stones to build infrastructure." "Youth of Kashmir have a choice to make from two paths tourism and terrorism," PM Modi added.
The Chenani-Nashri tunnel is likely to reduce the distance between Jammu and Srinagar by at least two hours. "The path of bloodshed has not helped any one and will never help anyone," PM Modi said.
The Valley is once again witnessing clashes between the civilians and security forces, especially at encounter sites. Recently, three youths were killed by army men when they came at an encounter site to provide shield to a militant holed up inside a house.
