Narendra Modi performs puja in Kashi Vishwanath Temple

New Delhi, May 17: As the country sees its first light of the dawn under the new government, Narendra Modi, the would-be prime minister has prepared for a victory procession to address the people of India in New Delhi, thanking them for their role in electing him as the Prime Minister of India. This is ahead of the first parliamentary panel meeting to be held here.

5:55 pm: The PM designate Narendra Modi visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple where he performed puja. Modi won election from Varanasi defeating AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Congress candidate Ajay Rai.

5:15: Narendra Modi's helicopter landed in Varanasi. Security has been beefed up in the city where the PM designate will perform Ganga Aarti later in the evening.

3:05 pm: Huge preparations for Ganga Aarti. Modi to arrive at 4:30 pm.

2:30 pm: In an irony, the DM of Varanasi who had denied entry of Narendra Modi for a rally, citing security reasons, is handing over the Modi winning certificate to BJP leaders Rameshwar Chaurasia and Kaku Bhai.

2:20 pm: Modi to head to Varanasi

1.54 pm: BJP parliamentary party meet on May 20: Rajnath Singh. He said the oath-taking ceremony date will be decided after the parliamentary party leader is elected.

1.40 pm: BJP leaders address press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

And the fame goes to all of them. Most of all, the credit goes to the people of the country."

11:20 am: Modi reaches Dhaulakuan. The streets are adorned with saffron, white and green balloons and the crowd is showing the new Prime MInister with flowers.
