PM Narendra Modi's Message of Peace and Harmony Amid Global Conflicts, Says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently highlighted the global influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message of peace, inspired by Lord Buddha. He emphasised this during a meeting with a Japanese delegation led by Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Japan's Yamanashi Province. The meeting took place at Adityanath's official residence, where he described Uttar Pradesh as a state with "Unlimited Potential."

Modi Advocates Peace Amid Global Conflicts

Adityanath noted the strong ties between India and Japan, which have been strengthened by the relationship between Prime Minister Modi and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. These ties have elevated political, economic, and business relations between the two nations. Japan's support as a partner country for the Global Investors Summit-2023 was also acknowledged by Adityanath.

Economic Cooperation and Trade

The economic partnership between India and Japan is robust, with bilateral trade reaching USD 22.854 billion in the financial year 2023-24. During this period, Japan exported goods worth USD 17.69 billion to India, while imports from India amounted to USD 5.15 billion. Over 1,400 Japanese companies operate in India, including major firms like Mitsui Technologies and Honda Motors.

In his address to the Japanese delegation, Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growing identity as an expressway state. The completion of the Ganga Expressway will give Uttar Pradesh a 55% share in India's total expressways. Currently, five expressways spanning 1,130 km are operational in the state.

Technological Advancements

Uttar Pradesh is making significant strides in the electronics and IT/ITES sectors. The state contributes about 45% to India's total mobile manufacturing and produces 55% of mobile components. Approximately 26% of India's mobile manufacturers are based in Uttar Pradesh, with over 200 ESDM companies operating there.

The state government is also developing clusters for semiconductor manufacturing and fab units. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly becoming a key hub for data centres in India.

Cultural and Historical Ties

Governor Kotaro Nagasaki expressed satisfaction with the signing of the MoU between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture. He noted the spiritual and historical connections between the two regions and pledged mutual cooperation in areas like skilled labour development, renewable energy, hydro power, and technology exchange.

Nagasaki told Adityanath that Japan is like a second home to him. The chief minister reciprocated by speaking a few lines in Japanese during their interaction.

Following the meeting, Adityanath shared on X: "Had a productive meeting and fruitful discussion with Mr. Kotaro Nagasaki, Hon. Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, and his delegation at my official residence in Lucknow today." He mentioned that an MoU was signed to enhance collaboration in industrial cooperation, tourism, and vocational education.

The MoU signifies a commitment to work together with Quad countries based on shared democratic values. This partnership aims to foster humanity through strategic cooperation across various sectors.
