Narendra Modi to honour Lata Mangeshkar in Mumbai today
The event is special - It was on a Jan 27, 51 years ago, Lata Mangeshkar sang the very famous song ‘Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logon' in the backdrop of the Indo-China war. At the event, Modi will felicitate Lata and hundreds of war veterans, informed BJP website.

Shreshta Bharat Divas is being organized by the youth body Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) in association with Lodha Foundation and Shahid Gaurav Samiti. Over 100 Param Vir Chakra, Mahaveer Chakra and other gallantry awardees, families of martyrs and other dignitaries shall be present and felicitated.
"The golden jubilee of this patriotic song was celebrated (for) the ethos of nationalism and patriotism among Indians and to inspire future generations," said SGS convenor and Bharatiya Janata Party legislator from Mumbai, Mangal Prabhat Lodha.
Also, the Bharat Ratna singer will sing ' Ae mere vatan ke logon' and the crowd will sing along, paying tribute to the patriotic song which was penned by Kavi Pradeep and sung by Lata in 1963. It was the favourite of India's former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru (See the Rajya Sabha TV video).
