Modi In Varanasi: PM On Stage, Will Launch Multiple Projects Worth Over Rs 10,000 Crore Shortly

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi to a warm welcome by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several BJP workers on Thursday night. His visit to his parliamentary constituency marked a two-day trip to lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects worth more than ₹13,202 crore on February 23.

A senior official from the district administration stated, "The PM will inaugurate 24 projects worth ₹11,972 crores and lay the foundation stone of 12 projects worth ₹2,195 crores."

During his visit, the PM is scheduled to attend a program at BHU where he will present awards to winners of various competitions and interact with participants. He will also visit the Sant Ravidas Temple at Seergovardhan and inaugurate various development works around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali.

Further enhancing road connectivity, the PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several road projects, including the construction of a Railway Overbridge (ROB) on the Varanasi-Jaunpur rail section near Babatpur. He will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway Package-1.

To boost industrial development, the PM will inaugurate the LPG Bottling Plant by HPCL in Sewapuri and the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit in UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon. He will also inaugurate multiple urban development projects and projects related to tourism and spiritual tourism, including the redevelopment of public facilities and the launching of an electric catamaran vessel provided by IWAI for Varanasi & Ayodhya.

The PM will also lay the foundation stone of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi, aimed at strengthening the education and training infrastructure of the textile sector. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone of a new Medical College and the National Centre of Ageing at BHU, augmenting the health infrastructure in Varanasi.

Commissioner of Police Ashok Mutha Jain assured that tight security arrangements had been put in place for the PM's visit.
