High Voter Turnout In Bihar Shows People’s Faith In Modi-Nitish Governance, Says PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted the record voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections as evidence of public trust in the leadership of both himself and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking at a rally in Aurangabad, Modi praised the Election Commission for effectively managing the elections across 121 constituencies.

Modi emphasised his commitment to fulfilling promises by referencing significant achievements like the construction of the Ram temple, the abrogation of Article 370, and Operation Sindoor. "I do what I promise," he stated, underscoring his dedication to delivering on commitments made to the public.

Trust in Leadership

The Prime Minister attributed much of the high voter turnout, nearly 65%, to women voters who participated enthusiastically. He claimed this demonstrated their confidence in the governance provided by Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. According to Modi, voters are keen on ensuring that an NDA government continues to provide good governance in Bihar.

Modi criticised the opposition led by RJD, accusing them of making false promises. He suggested that even Congress, despite being an ally, is sceptical about RJD's manifesto pledges. The Prime Minister warned against a return to 'jungle raj', characterised by violence and Naxal insurgency during elections.

Challenges from Opposition

Referring to controversial campaign tactics by RJD, Modi remarked that they have influenced children with negative ideas like unlicensed firearms. He commended the Election Commission for maintaining order during polls despite potential disruptions from opposition forces.

Nitish Kumar was praised for ending 'jungle raj', although Modi noted that Kumar faced challenges due to non-cooperation from the Congress-led UPA government during his initial years as Chief Minister. This period saw limited support from the Centre for Bihar's development initiatives.

Promises Fulfilled

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to promises made on Bihar soil, including punishing those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor. He also mentioned significant developments like scrapping Article 370 and establishing a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Addressing an area known for its military personnel, Modi highlighted the one rank one pension scheme which has resulted in Rs one lakh crore being transferred into ex-servicemen's accounts. He mocked RJD leaders for their lack of understanding regarding such large financial figures.

Criticism of Opposition Tactics

The Prime Minister accused RJD leaders of misleading people with job promises while exploiting their land resources. He referenced legal troubles faced by Lalu Prasad and family members over a land-for-jobs scam during Prasad's tenure as Railway Minister under UPA 1.

Modi criticised Congress and RJD for engaging in politics based on insults rather than constructive dialogue. He urged voters to respond decisively during upcoming election phases scheduled for November 11th, citing past derogatory remarks made by opposition leaders about cultural events like Chhath Puja and Maha Kumbh.

The Prime Minister concluded by urging voters to reject divisive politics and support leaders committed to progress and stability in Bihar. His speech aimed at reinforcing public confidence in NDA leadership while highlighting opposition shortcomings.
