Modi Highlights Congress's Historical Violations of the Constitution in Lok Sabha Speech
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Congress in the Lok Sabha, accusing it of damaging the Constitution for power. BJP MPs, including Union ministers, supported his claims after his speech. Modi's remarks came during a debate on the 75-year journey of India's Constitution. He targeted the Nehru-Gandhi family, alleging they harmed the Constitution's essence.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted Modi's focus on the Constitution's sanctity and core elements. "The PM also presented before the people of the country facts how the Congress, which claims to be the protector of the Constitution, tore apart the Constitution for the sake of power and hurt its soul," he stated.
Constitution as a Guiding Principle
Pradhan emphasised that India's government views the Constitution as its guiding principle. He noted historic decisions like Article 370, CAA, National Education Policy 2020, and triple talaq were made with dedication to constitutional values. The government prioritises welfare for all, contrasting Congress's old "Garibi Hatao" slogan.
Modi proposed 11 resolutions during his speech, advocating for existing reservations for marginalised groups while opposing religion-based quotas. His resolutions included ending dynastic politics, promoting meritocracy over nepotism, and pledging zero tolerance for corruption.
Call to Action for Nation Building
Pradhan urged citizens to contribute to nation-building by supporting Modi's 11 resolutions. "Let all of us countrymen make our important contribution towards nation building by working on the 11 resolutions given by the Prime Minister on this occasion," he said.
Union minister Giriraj Singh praised Modi for exposing Congress's actions. "The country should learn from what the prime minister said," Singh remarked to reporters at Parliament.
BJP Leaders Support Modi's Claims
BJP MP Jagdambika Pal echoed Modi's sentiments, stating that Congress never respected the Constitution or its architect B R Ambedkar. The prime minister's speech aimed to present these truths to the nation.
The debate in Lok Sabha highlighted differing views on India's constitutional journey. Modi's speech focused on alleged past wrongdoings by Congress and outlined future goals for governance based on merit and integrity.
