Modi defends demonetisation, says govt didn't give hoarders time to prepare
Modi said that it was not just important to remember various articles of the Constitution but also be connected with the Constitution.
New Delhi, Nov 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, releasing a book on the Constitution said that Nov 26 will be celebrated as the Constitution Day.
Speaking at the event, Modi said: "Our Constitution has very special place in our lives. Nov 26 was decided to be observed as Constitution Day to celebrate the Constitution and have greater awareness among the youth."

Modi said that it was not just important to remember various articles of the Constitution but also be connected with the Constitution. "We celebrate January 26 with great enthusiasm but we must also remember- without November 26, we could not celebrate January 26."
Speaking about demonetisation at the event, Modi said: "Those criticising the demonetisation move don't have a problem with government's preparedness. They have problem that they didn't get time to prepare."
"The common citizen of India has become a soldier against corruption and black money," Modi said. "India has often ranked low in global rankings on corruption. We need to improve it," he added.
Over the years people have forgotten their duties under the Constitution but only remember their rights, Modi added.
