New Delhi, May 23: After attending the farewell ceremony and swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister in Gujarat, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is back in New Delhi to resume discussions regarding the Cabinet formation.

According to sources, Arun Jaitley is likely to get the charge of Finance Ministry, Rajnath Singh may be given the reigns of the Home Ministry and Sushma Swaraj is likely to be given the responsibility of the Defence or External Affairs Ministry. Former Army Chief General VK Singh may be Minister of State for Defence.

Murli Manohar Joshi may be the new speaker of Lok Sabha and LK Advani may be the new party president.

Meanwhile, BJP allies like Ram Vilas Paswan may get Health or Agriculture.

Modi will be sworn in as prime minister on May 26 and the cabinet will also take charge the same day.
