Moderate quake in Kashmir Valley, no damage reported
Srinagar, July 2: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale today struck Kashmir Valley, but there were no reports of any damage due to the tremor.
"A moderate intensity earthquake was recorded at 12.48 pm today," a spokesman of the MeT department here said. He said the epicentre of the tremor was somewhere near the border with Pakistan.

"The quake had a depth of 10 km and struck at a Latitude of 34.4 degrees north and at a Longitude of 73.8 degrees east," he said.
Police officials said there were no reports of any damage caused due to the tremor. Kashmir Valley was rocked by a moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale three days back on June 30.
