"Sodha's family, community members and members of his rival groups have been posting provocative messages. His family members are also posting messages against the police and the SP.

To prevent any clash, mobile Internet services have been blocked with effect from last night," District Collector Jaisalmer Matadeen Sharma said. He, however, said broadband services have been exempted from the ban.

The order is for 48 hours, Sharma added. Sodha, who belonged to Rajput community, along with his accomplices was going in a car and was stopped by a police patrol party in Sadar police station area of Jaisalmer on Saturday night.

According to the police, they abducted head constable Bhola Ram and tried to flee following which policemen opened fire on them in which Sodha was killed.
