Mobile Internet Ban For 24-Hours In Haryana's Nuh Before Hindu March
The Haryana government has suspended mobile internet in Nuh district for 24 hours to prevent potential unrest and ensure the smooth conduct of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, following last year's violence.
The Haryana government has ordered a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district.
This measure will be in effect from 6 pm Sunday to 6 pm Monday, as per the directive issued by Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Anurag Rastogi, as reported by NDTV.

Last year, the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra was disrupted by violence, prompting the current precautionary steps. The order cited concerns about potential tension, annoyance, agitation, damage to public and private property, and disturbance of public peace in Nuh district, as per the media reports.
Security Measures for Yatra
The Nuh Police have implemented stringent security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra. The suspension aims to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumours via social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter.
On July 31 last year, two home guards were killed and at least 15 others, including several policemen, were injured when a mob tried to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Nuh. The mob pelted stones and set cars on fire during the incident, as reported by NDTV.
Violence Aftermath
That same night, a mosque in Gurugram was attacked by a mob who killed its naib imam. In total, at least six people lost their lives and many others were injured following the interfaith clash.
The BJP government in Haryana, led by Manohar Khattar at that time, faced severe criticism from opposition parties due to the violence. The administration's response to the unrest was heavily scrutinised, as per media reports.
According to feedback from Additional DGP-CID Haryana and a Deputy Commissioner, there is an apprehension that tensions could escalate again. Therefore, suspending internet services is seen as a necessary step to maintain public order.
This decision underscores the government's intent to avoid any repeat of last year's violent incidents during the Yatra. Ensuring public safety remains a priority for local authorities amidst these preventive measures.
