MNS workers vandalise Gujarati shop in Mumbai

In March, Raj Thackeray-led MNS had raised objections to the private discom Reliance Energy using the Gujarati language in the electricity bills issued to its customers in the megapolis.

The MNS, in a letter issued to the company, demanded that since Marathi is the official language in the state, the electricity bills should be issued only in that language along with English and not in any other language.

MNS is in the forefront in propagating 'Marathi identity' in the state after breaking away with Shiv Sena. The party is based on 'Marathi' and 'Sons of soil' ideologies.

The Raj Thackeray-led party has only seven seats in the 227-member Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
