Missing JNU student Najeeb had browsed about Islamic State: Reports
Reports stated that he was gathering information on the IS, its ideology and networks
In a major twist to the tale, the browsing history of missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed shows that he had searched for the Islamic State on the internet. Several reports have emerged in which it was suggested that the Delhi police had found that he had searched for topics such as 'how to join the IS', and videos of the outfit.

However, Delhi police sources say that the matter is under investigation. But the Delhi police spokesperson maintained that no such link has emerged as yet. Reports stated that he was gathering information on the IS, its ideology and networks. However, he was browsing for this information before he went missing, reports state.
According to the police, Najeeb went missing on October 14, 2016, after getting into a fight. The CCTV footage showed him boarding an auto rickshaw. The police said that he was on medication for obsessive-compulsive disorder. The Intelligence Bureau was also roped in to help the Delhi police in its probe.
