Srinagar, February 6: Renowned broadcaster, poet, and Sahitya Akademi laureate Mir Mohammad Farooq Nazki passed away at a hospital in Katra on Tuesday at the age of 83. Nazki, who held prominent positions in All India Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan, suffered a heart attack on Monday night, as confirmed by family sources.

A Life Dedicated to Broadcasting and Literature
Nazki's illustrious career spanned several decades, during which he made significant contributions to the fields of broadcasting and literature. He held various important positions in All India Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the media landscape of the region. Mir Mohammad Farooq Nazki's mortal remains will be laid to rest at the Malkha graveyard in Srinagar on Wednesday. The body is being transported from Jammu to Srinagar, where friends, family, and admirers will gather to pay their final respects to a man who touched the lives of so many.
